Our Specialist Teachers are passionate about their field
We are blessed to have amazing Teachers who are Specialists in Outdoor Education, Music, Drama, French, Phys. Ed, Christian Living, Digital Technology and more!
Outdoor Education elective offers the opportunity for students to engage in a range of outdoor activities that pose challenges and encourage students to step outside their comfort zone.
Activities include: Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking, Hiking. ATAR ODE also includes students gaining their Skippers Ticket and Scuba Certificate. We are currently the only school in the Peel Region to offer a Scuba Diving Certificate for the Year 12 Course.
Students are introduced to simple risk assessment models to assist decision making and apply safe practices to cope with challenging situations and environments. Students plan for outdoor experiences, participate in these experiences and reflect on their involvement. They understand the main styles of leadership and how to use strategies to promote effective groups. They enhance personal and group skills and build confidence, empathy and self-understanding.
Note: Students are required to pass entry tests prior to being accepted into the elective. Places are limited to a maximum of 19 students per year group.
Students are required to have a level of fitness for each outdoor activity as per government policy and school policy. Students will need to successfully complete the fitness tests to enroll in the Outdoor Education course elective.
Our Music Teachers have been trained in the Kodály Music Education where our students as young as Kindergarten learn music rhythms and timing starting with using their voice as the primary instrument.
Each year the syllabus is built upon so students are ready to be part of the Strings Program in Year 3.
Year 3 Students are given the choice to learn the Violin, Viola or Cello and take home their own instrument for the year. In addition to this program, families can opt to continue learning their instrument through our private Music Tuition program.

Inter-School Sport Competitions
PSSA - Primary School Sports Association
Our Primary Students are now part of the PSSA where they compete against Primary Schools in the Peel Region in AFL, Hockey, Volleyball, Netball and Soccer. These competitions take place during Terms 1 and 2.
Interschool Athletics
Our Students compete in various interschool competitions in Western Australia. Our Primary School competes through WACSSA (WA Christian Schools Sporting Association) in Athletics, Swimming and Cross-Country.
Secondary School Students compete in the ACC (Associated and Catholic Colleges) competitions. The Associated and Catholic Colleges of WA is one of the largest independent school sporting associations in Australia. We have participated successfully in their Athletics, Cross-Country, Swimming, Basketball and Soccer competitions.
Our College offers French as a second language as part of a strong and engaging language program designed to build communication skills and cultural understanding.
In Years 1 – 8, students participate in French as a specialist subject, providing regular, structured exposure to the language through interactive and age-appropriate learning experiences.
In Years 9 & 10, students can continue their French studies through elective pathways, allowing them to deepen their proficiency and explore language in greater academic and real-world contexts.
From 2027, we will further strengthen this pathway by introducing ATAR French, enabling students to pursue the language at a university-entrance level and opening up broader post-school study and career opportunities.
Our College provides Christian Living classes as part of the curriculum, supporting students to grow in their understanding of faith and its practical application in daily life.
In addition to the Western Australian Curriculum being taught through a Christ-centred worldview by class teachers, Christian Living Specialists work closely with students to deepen their knowledge of the Bible and explore the teachings of Jesus. These classes encourage students to reflect on Christian values, develop character, and consider how faith shapes their actions, relationships, and decision-making in everyday contexts.
Our Digital Technologies program is delivered in alignment with the Western Australian Curriculum, ensuring students develop essential skills in computational thinking, digital systems, and responsible technology use.
In the Primary years, students build foundational digital literacy through regular laptop use, developing confidence in word processing, research, coding basics, and safe online practices.
As students progress into Secondary, the program expands into more advanced and specialised applications, including 3D printing, robotics, and virtual reality (VR) experiences. These technologies provide hands-on opportunities for design, problem-solving, and innovation, equipping students with practical skills and digital capabilities that prepare them for an increasingly technology-driven world.
Our Materials Design and Technology program provides students with hands-on opportunities to design, create, and evaluate products using a range of materials, including wood and textiles, in alignment with the Western Australian Curriculum.
In Woodwork, students develop practical skills in measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling timber to produce functional and creative projects, while learning about tools, techniques, and workshop safety.
In Textiles, students explore fabric construction, garment design, and sewing techniques, applying creativity and problem-solving to produce individualised textile items. Across both areas, students are encouraged to follow the design process—from initial ideas through to production and evaluation — building confidence, technical skills, and an appreciation for craftsmanship and design thinking.
